Point counting is a technique used to determinate the components of a sample and the percentages that represent in it. This technique is applied in biological, medical, geological and materials science domains. Point counting is normally conducted through mechanical or electromechanical devices attached to a microscope, such devices are very expensive and offer limited functionality. We introduce an interactive visualization application called Rock.AR that reduces the amount of time required to apply this technique and simplify its work flow. Rock.AR provides visual tools, like distortion techniques, overview+detail and some statistics to assist the technique.
